Nestled in Hickory Nut Gorge is Lake Lure, towered over by cliffs as high as 2,000 feet and fed by the Rocky Broad River.  The lake was created in the early 1900’s by a developer who envisioned the area as a perfect resort setting.  Today the resort setting is the town of Lake Lure, NC.  The resort hotel is still in operation and all the amenities of a resort are here.  The town has thrived as a vacation attraction.  Beside the lake activities, Lake Lure offers a municipal golf course, a softball field, and public tennis courts, a water park on the lake,  plus fine restaurants, unique stores, and nearby scenic attractions. The lake itself has 27 miles of shoreline and has public sand beaches, boat ramps, and two marinas, which make the lake ideal for almost all freshwater activities such as boating, skiing, fishing, and swimming.
Rhonda Boyd and Brenda Hoyle extend an invitation for you to join us for the great memories found in the smoky mountains and at Point of View.
